
Joel Whitney, PT, DPT
Biography
Joel Whitney, originally from Montana, has called New Mexico home for the past 14 years. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of New Mexico, with undergraduate coursework focused on Exercise Science. During his clinical coursework, Joel gained extensive experience working with medically fragile patients and those with neurological disorders in inpatient and outpatient settings, further refining his ability to manage complex rehabilitation needs.
Before becoming a physical therapist, Joel worked as a functional movement coach and martial arts instructor, where he developed his expertise in biomechanics and improving his client’s movement patterns.
Outside of work, Joel enjoys a variety of sporting activities, including hiking, stand-up paddleboarding, and grappling and striking martial arts. His active lifestyle drives his dedication to helping patients regain their strength and return to the activities they love.
